Play Synopsis

The play begins in Ancient China and the story line explains how kind-hearted Panda became Lucky Panda.

The rest of the play is set in present day San Francisco.  Lucky Panda reunites Mrs Lian with her missing son, via a skateboarding incident.  Then Lucky Panda is taken by a spoilt and mean spirited child and is later rescued by caring Rosa whose family struggles to make ends meet. Rosa's mum works long hours in a diner as a waitress. How will Lucky Panda help Mrs. Martinez and her family?

There are some basic Mandarin Chinese expresions used in the dialogues, which pupils will enjoy learning.
